#35.1 Identities - Perspectives of Privilege and Discrimination

€17.00Price

November 2024

As the world shifts towards division and inequality, we find ourselves faced with increased suppression of individual identities. In this issue, we explore Togetherness in Diversity, a theme that invites us all to reflect on our own privileges and to consider how we might foster unity across our differences.

This theme is presented in two parts.

35.1 Identities: Perspectives of Privelege and Discrimination

In the first issue, we showcase individual perspectives, offering glimpses into the lives, experiences, and behaviours of people from diverse backgrounds. Through these stories, we aim to spark reflec- tion and empathy, encouraging each of us to recognize the privileges we do or do not hold.

35.2 Futuring: Reclaiming Identities

In the second part, we will focus on “Futuring” and want to provide an outlook on how we can move forward. Here, we explore ways to bridge divides and celebrate unity across diversity, inspiring a path forward toward shared understanding and mutual respect.

About the Pricing

For full transparency: We are a student organization powered by a team of motivated students who work tirelessly on the editorial team without compensation. Our funding is extremely limited, and our authors get to publish for free to keep it accessible for students to write. This is why your support is so vital to keeping our magazine alive and accessible. To cover the costs of printing, we therefore rely on sales. However, we do not make any profit from these sales. Instead, we’ve developed a pricing system aimed at making the magazine as affordable as possible, depending on individual circumstances.

  • For Polis Premium Members: Your membership helps support POLIS and with it the magazine’s printing costs, so you will  automatically get one printed magazine of each issue.
  • For Polis Members: Your membership helps support POLIS and with it partly the magazine’s printing costs, so you are entitled to a dictount of 7€ on one magazine. Please write us to get your personal discount code.
  • For Students: We understand that many students have little to no income, so we offer a discount of 4€ on one magazine to make the magazine more accessible. Simply use the code STUDENT at checkout to apply your discount.
  • For Others: If you don’t fall into these categories, we kindly ask for your support by purchasing the magazine at the regular price. This enables us continue with the magazine in the long run and helps subsidize the discounts for people that can not afford it.

If you are unable to afford the magazine but still wish to have it, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’ll gladly work with you to find a solution.

Thank you for supporting our work and helping us make it accessible to everyone!
